The pricing questions we get most often
Why €5/month specifically?
Because that's the unit-cost math that lets us sustain a quality service. CDN bandwidth costs scale roughly linearly with active subscribers; a 20,000-channel service can hit break-even at €4–€5/month per active subscriber on the 12-month plan. Adding 5–10% margin covers staff, support tools, licences, and reinvestment. Below €5/month and the quality bar slips; above €10/month and Irish households default back to Sky and Virgin. We've run the numbers quarterly since 2022, and €5 is the sweet spot.
Why no auto-renewal?
Because we don't want to charge customers who don't want to be charged. We send two reminders in advance; you opt in or you don't. Auto-renewals are a major cause of consumer-protection complaints in the IPTV industry and we believe the model is predatory.
What happens to my credentials if my plan expires?
They stop working at the end of the billing period. No data is deleted automatically. The customer portal keeps your watch history, your EPG favourites, your settings. When you renew, the same credentials work.
Can I share a subscription with family?
Yes — within reason. Two simultaneous streams per account is the default; share with as many devices as you want, as long as only two stream at the same time. Bulk pricing for genuine commercial operators (AirBnB hosts, pub owners, guest houses) is at /contact.
What if I want to upgrade mid-plan?
Pay the difference between the remaining months of your current plan and the new plan; we extend immediately. You can upgrade from 6-month to 12-month at any time, for example, and pay the €20 difference.
What if I want to downgrade mid-plan?
Allowed at the end of the current plan. We don't refund the difference mid-cycle but we will carry it as credit toward your next renewal if you ask.
Any hidden costs I've missed?
No. We charge exactly the published price. VAT is shown at checkout. Card processing fees are passed through (≈0.3%, automatically deducted from your card); we don't surcharge. Bank transfers and SEPA are free.
Do you offer discounts for students, seniors, or healthcare workers?
Yes — 20% off the 12-month plan, no questions. Email a copy of your student card, GNI check, or healthcare worker ID to support@iptv-ireland-subscription.com and we'll apply the discount on your next renewal. We're not paternalistic about who qualifies; we trust you.
What about a first-responder discount?
Same as above — 20% off. We owe a debt to people who serve.
Do you have a referral program beyond the second trial?
Yes — €10/€10. Refer a friend, they get €10 off their 6-month or 12-month plan, you get €10 credit in your customer portal for the next renewal. Stackable across multiple friends.
Are there business plans for pubs, restaurants, hotels?
Yes. Contact us with the number of TVs/devices you need. We typically quote €4-€6 per device per month for 10+ device accounts, depending on volume.
Where are your prices published?
Right here on /pricing. We don't hide prices behind a sales call. We don't have a "contact us for pricing" button. Prices are public, fixed, and auditable.
If your competitor offers €3/month for a 24-month commitment, are they cheaper?
Per-month yes, but the total cost of ownership is almost always higher if you factor in: (a) shorter trial so you can't test, (b) shorter refund window so you can't easily cancel, (c) no CRO or licence publication so you can't verify legitimacy, (d) no support SLA so you're on your own. Most Irish households don't want a 24-month commitment anyway.
The honest receipt
If you pay €59.99 for a 12-month plan, after 12 months you'll have watched:
- ~365 Premier League fixtures if you watch one a week
- ~150 GAA championship matches if you watch every championship round
- ~30 Champions League nights
- ~25 Formula 1 race weekends
- ~100 movies on the VOD library
That's between €0.10 and €0.30 per piece of content, depending on what you watch. You're not paying €60 for unlimited content. You're paying €60 for unlimited content access.
Price = €5/month, value = uncapped
The price is the floor of the relationship. The value is the ceiling. We promise €5/month on the 12-month plan, we promise to deliver 20,000+ channels and 60,000+ VOD titles, and we promise to be around in 12 months to renew — backed by 4 years of operations, a Dublin office, a CRO number, and 8,400+ active subscribers who can vouch for us.
That's the price/value contract. Sign up on /pricing if it appeals. Sign up on /free-trial if you're still evaluating.
